I seem to have fell out of the blogging habit. The dog's have been their normal crazy selves. We now have four dogs instead of three.
Our newest dog's name is Cujo. He was a stray that someone threw out. I was cleaning the shed, I heard him yelp, and then there he was peeking at me through the boxes. The poor little guy looked so sad. :( I thought he was a puppy and picked him right up. It's a good thing he was friendly or I could of been missing a piece of my face. He cuddled right up to me and went to sleep on my chest while I was sitting in the lawn chair trying to figure out what to do with him.
I took him to the local vet's to have him scanned for a micro chip, and stopped at every house on the road to ask if he belonged to anyone. I already figured he didn't, but I had to be sure. I was going to take him to an animal shelter and possibly foster him until a home could be found, but they were full and not taking anymore. The told me I'd have to contact the pound. Luckily for Cujo, he had me from "hello" and much to my husband's dislike, he is now a part of our family.
I don't know what kind of dog he is. I'm guessing Chihuahua and Jack Russel, but he could really be just about anything. He's not very big and was only about 15 pounds when I first found him. I'm thinking he was ditched because he wasn't neutered and was spraying in the house. He was also in love with Tequila when she came into heat about a month after I found him. He foolishly growled at our old man Oscar one time to many. He came in the house with his tooth hanging sideways and still couldn't wait to get back near Tequila. I called the shelter in tears and got him an appointment for a tooth extraction and neuter. He lost 3 teeth and had a possible jaw fracture. He's healed now and a very good little boy that no longer sprays.
The day after he found me.
He's so ugly he's adorable, a lot of times I just look at him and can't help but laugh. He plays with the big dogs and it's hysterical to see him barking and jumping at them like he is going to defeat them. He chases after the cat who in turn waits and sneaks up to give him a good swat on the nose. He is super cuddly. He'll lay on you for hours if you let him.
I named him Cujo for his ferocious bark and the fact that he doesn't like other dogs when he first meets them. When he first met my parent's boxer he stretched himself up as big as he could and started kicking at the grass. There was grass flying two feet into the air behind him. It was soooo funny.
